JAMBI: A marijuana field spanning some 1.5 hectares has been found in a village in Kerinci regency, Jambi.

The police have yet to identify the owner of the land.

Kerinci Police chief Adj. Snr. Comr. Hastho Rahardjo confirmed that the field was located in Renah Pemetik village, Siulak district.

“We have deployed a team of 90 personnel to the site,” he said recently, adding that the police thanked residents for the finding.

“Soon after we got the information, we promptly moved to the site,” he said.

He said he would not speculate over the field’s ownership.

Several years ago, a 1-hectare marijuana field was also found in the region. — JP
